<p class="P2">The document is saved under its path and name on the current local data medium or network drive or on the Internet, overwriting any old version in the process.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">When you save a new file for the first time, the <help:link Id="65755" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Save As</help:link> dialog opens, in which you can enter a name, folder and drive or volume for the file. To open this dialog, choose <span class="T1">File - Save As</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">You can enter settings such as AutoSave or automatic creation of a backup copy under <help:link Id="66264" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Tools - Options - Load/Save - General</help:link>.</p>
